Melanoma Cancer Treatment from Jupiter, FL dermatologist
The most common form of cancer is skin cancer. The great news is, if detected early and treated early, this cancer is effectively handled. Dr. Peter Vitulli of A Center for Dermatology, Cosmetic and Laser Surgery is a strong believer in education and prevention. That's why he wants you to know what skin cancer symptoms are to help you get the early treatment needed. Especially in areas like sunny Jupiter, FL, early detection is key to effective treatment.

What is skin cancer?

The majority of the three types of skin cancer are caused by overexposure to ultraviolet light. This is an invisible type of radiation that comes from the sun, tanning beds, and sun lamps. The rays can change your skin cells. When the skin cells mutate, skin cancer can result. The three types of skin cancer are basal cell, squamous cell carcinoma and melanoma. The names refer to the area of the skin (basal cell layer, squamous layer, and melanocytes) that the cancer begins in.

The ABCDEs of melanoma:

  • A stands for asymmetrical: Does your mole have two very different looking halves?
  • B stands for border: Is the border irregular?
  • C stands for color: Is the color uneven in your mole?
  • D is for diameter: Is the mole larger than the size of a pea?
  • E is for evolving: Has it changed in the last few weeks or months?

Other signs of skin cancer:

  • New growths: If a weird spot or mole suddenly appears.
  • A sore that doesn't heal: If you have a sore that no matter how you treat it, it just won't go away.
  • A change in an old growth: If something just seems different about a spot or mole you have.
If any of these signs show up, it's imperative to see us immediately. Call us today. 561-427-2000

I absolutely would refer this practice to anyone. Not only was I able to get my full body skin check done, but my filler was finally done perfectly. I went to other providers in the past, but they do not scale in comparison. My results are amazing. If you are looking for professionalism and care, you have found it!
