Tattoo removal in Jupiter a simple process

Millions of people have tattoos, some are meaningful, and some were obtained on a spur of the moment urge. Whatever one’s reason for getting a tattoo may have been, there is a likelihood that, at some point, they wish they had made a different choice. Not every person will feel this way. For those who do, there is laser tattoo removal for the comfortable, effective return to unmarked skin. Dr. Vitulli is a Jupiter dermatologist skilled in tattoo removal.

Over the course of several years, laser technology has made its way into a number of medical treatments. Laser tattoo removal is widely sought after due to its high degree of safety, low risk, and excellent results. This form of treatment consists of several treatments over the course of months.

The number of treatments is based on the pigmentation in the tattoo, and its size, depth, and location. The number of colors and the colors themselves also play a role in how quickly pigmentation can be removed. It has been found that older tattoos are more responsive to treatment than newer tattoos, and that tattoos performed by professionals take longer to remove than those performed by amateurs.

The way that laser tattoo removal works is by breaking up the particles of pigment in the skin. Laser energy is delivered at a set wavelength that will be absorbed by pigment. The absorption of energy scatters pigment in to tiny particles. In this fragmented state, pigment molecules can be absorbed into the body and naturally eliminated. The absorption is dependent on the various factors mentioned, but typically takes from four to eight weeks.

During tattoo removal treatment, we take measures to create a comfortable experience, such as applying topical numbing cream to the treatment area. Side effects of treatment are usually short-lived, and include minor swelling and discoloration as pigments are broken up and dispersed.

Following laser tattoo removal, we encourage our patients to avoid direct sun exposure for a full month. This may be accomplished by wearing protective clothing or applying SPF 30 or higher sunscreen each day.

Tattoos can be beautiful works of art on the body, but, for some, they are unwanted markings on the skin. We can help you rediscover your best skin. Contact A Center for Dermatology, Cosmetic and Laser Surgery for your tattoo-removal consultation.
